Hello

My dream is to one day own a sailboat and learning every single thing about it, including how to sail. This began ever since I would go to the British Virgin Islands as a tradition every summer with my family in Puerto Rico. I have never been on a sailboat there, but I have been on a powerboat, but the one thing that enchanted me was the ocean: the look, the feel, the smell, the touch. Everything. Most especially of all, i loved being on a boat.

You may ask, why a sailboat if you have never been on one? Well, that's easy. I have been on a sailboat, but only once and a thousand times on a powerboat. To me, powerboats can be a bit monstrous and artificial. Sailboats, on the other hand, seem more relaxed and real since it requires the use of the wind, something natural and never ending. And the relaxing part? Yeah, I guess you could say that pretty much describes me. I enjoy simplicity and the actual process of doing work. For example, a powerboat is basically putting in the keys, starting the engine, and go. With a sailboat there is so much more to do like putting up the sails, securing the lines, and having to find the direction of the wind in order to actually move. Personally, I think that is so much more fun even though it requires more work.

With this blog I'll be recording everything I learn about sailboats and sailing and whatnot. I don't know, maybe this might help others who have my same dreams. I mean, it's not like I have family that owns a sailboat or that know how to sail, so this is something I'm doing on my own. So I'm gonna tell myself," Good Luck!"

:)
